New Efficiency Standards Ordered for Heavy-Duty Trucks

College Student Speaks Out About Idling

It was from Clare Roth, a Northwestern University senior journalism student who had learned of our "I Turn It Off" pledge campaign to end unnecessary vehicle idling. A member of her school’s speech team, Roth had chosen vehicle idling as the topic for the prepared speech she would be competing with throughout the season—and she wanted to see if we could send her materials to hand out at the events.

Chowdafest Diverts Food Waste, Feeds Hungry

Last weekend, Sustainable America was on hand at Connecticut's Chowdafest to help divert food waste to composting, instead of where it usually goes in the area: to an incinerator. And perhaps the biggest win of all was that both a percentage of the proceeds and a large amount of direct food donations went to the Connecticut Food Bank to help feed the hungry.
